Materials Engineer
Join the future of Sustainable Manufacturing at reTyre!
At reTyre, you’re not just joining a company — you’re joining a groundbreaking industrial journey together with a great team of innovators.
We’ve built the world’s first sustainable tire factory, right in the heart of Ski, 20 min outside of Oslo.
We are now looking to hire a skilled Materials Engineer to our R&D team to explore the limitless possibilities of elastomeric materials and drive our mission forward.
Our factory uses a revolutionary production method that makes it possible to replace traditional rubber in pneumatic tires with new, sustainable materials.
Our team is young, international, energetic, and united with a passion for innovation, sustainability, and growth. Every day, we challenge the conventional and push the boundaries of what manufacturing can be — for the benefit of people and the planet.
The company language is English, and the position demands good written and spoken English skills.
The role and who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in compounding who understands how to iteratively develop and improve compounds. The ideal candidate knows how to test and refine formulations over multiple iterations to achieve the desired properties
We are looking for someone who has practical knowledge of working with additives and fillers and understand how to modify properties such as processing behavior, durability, wet grip, or cost efficiency. Rather than relying only on theory, we value someone who is street-smart in compounding — someone who has learned through real production experience, understands how materials behave in practice, and can quickly identify workable solutions.
The role requires a practical mindset, curiosity to experiment, and the ability to improve formulations through systematic testing and iteration.
