We are now looking to hire a skilled Automation Engineer for our R&D team to explore the limitless possibilities of automated systems to optimize our production flow and drive our mission forward.
Our factory uses a revolutionary production method that makes it possible to replace traditional rubber in pneumatic tires with new, sustainable materials.

The role
As an Automation Engineer at reTyre, you’ll design, develop and maintain advanced automated systems that integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components to enhance efficiency and productivity across various applications. Your background in automation and robotics combined with hands-on industrial experience will allow you to make great impact and further develop your skillset.
You’ll be at the forefront of the Automation processes in innovative projects, always pushing the boundaries of what's possible in tire technology.
You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Mechanical Engineers, Manufacturing engineers and Product developers, to understand automation needs and develop appropriate solutions. You will also collaborate with some of the world’s leading suppliers and partners in technological solutions.
In essence, no two days will be the same. You and the rest of the R&D team will together build the new standard for production facilities.

Your responsibilities will include
Design and develop automated systems and robotics using principles of automation.
Integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components to create cohesive automation solutions.
Develop and implement control systems for automated processes, optimizing performance through software and hardware adjustments.
Conduct testing and validation to ensure reliability and performance.
Analyse test data using statistical methods to suggest design improvements.
Validate, propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance existing systems and processes.
Participate in research and development projects to explore new automation opportunities.
Provide technical documentation for developed systems and processes.
Be up to date on the newest technologies and trends within your field.
Work with suppliers of automated systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Cybernetics, Robotics, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Min. 3 years of proven experience in designing and developing advanced automated systems and robotics, preferably in an industrial setting.
Strong programming skills in PLC programming languages and other high-level programming languages. Relevant languages can be Ladder programming (etc TIA portal, Autoshop), C/C++, Python and Arduino.
Experience with control systems and evolving existing machines and processes into fully automatic systems using robotics.
Advantage of knowledge in using CAD software for mechanical design.
A big benefit if you are able to see the problem from a mechanical viewpoint and can communicate with Mechanical Engineers very effectively
Practical experience with hands-on electrical engineering work.
Proven experience in developing products or systems from inception to completion, with the ability to see the broader perspective required to deliver complex systems.
Experience with working with sub-suppliers of automation systems.
